  Sadly, the tax preparer I had at H&R Block in Plymouth, WI lacked sound tax professional knowledge and attention to detail. Last year, this person INSISTED I did not qualify for Wisconsin's newly-implemented private high school tuition deduction on my state filing. I went home, completed some basic research online, and shared my findings with the tax preparer, proving I did, in fact, deserve the credit. This was the first situation requiring an amended return. This year, upon completing my 2015 tax return (doing it on my own with TurboTax), I identified yet another error on my 2014 Wisconsin State filing, due to a data-entry mistake. Now, I've just picked up my second amended return from H&R Block and the tax preparer (the same person who completed my 2014 return) didn't even apologize or share any concern relative to the inconvenience this has caused me. In fact, I got the impression that I was inconveniencing him/her! Perhaps the other staff members at this particular H&R Block location are competent to properly handle tax filings and treat clients with the respect they deserve. As for myself, H&R Block is permanently off my list of professional service providers.
